ADSL setup for Windows 2000

ADSL configuration for Windows 2000:

  1. Click on your Start Menu then on Settings then Control panel.

  2. In your Control Panel double click on Network and Dial up Connections.

  3. This
    will bring up a new folder with two icons in it- Make New Connection
    and Local Area Connection. Right click on Local area Connection and
    click on Properties.

    The
    Local Area Connection Properties window should pop up. Click on
    Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) so that it is highlighted then click on
    Properties.

  4. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window select Use the Following IP address and type in the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway IP information that you were given to by Smarttnet.

  5. Then select Use the following DNS server addresses and type in the following numbers in the proper field: Perferred DNS server: 69.31.170.249 Alternate DNS server: 69.67.177.249

  6. Then click OK and OK again. Then restart your computer for the new information to take into effect.
